Litigation Practice Focus
Rebecca is an Associate in the FH2 Litigation Practice Group. She represents clients in complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts and internal and government investigations. Her practice includes commercial disputes, commercial real estate, credit reporting, employment, regulatory, and white-collar matters.
Rebecca also maintains an active pro bono practice. She has represented individuals seeking asylum before immigration judges and the Board of Immigration Appeals and has handled landlord/tenant matters through the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation.
Guiding Clients Through Complex Litigation
Rebecca has experience serving clients in all phases of litigation. She counsels clients pre-suit, develops case strategy, and manages fact investigation, all aspects of discovery, motion practice, hearings, mediations, settlement negotiations, and appellate briefing. She has litigated in federal District Courts in more than 15 districts across the United States, the Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, Municipal, Magistrate and Superior Courts in Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and federal and state administrative courts. Rebecca has also advised clients responding to government subpoenas and investigations.
Representative Matters
Rebecca has successfully represented clients in a broad range of matters, including:
- Securing an early dismissal of a lawsuit brought by a software vendor against the world’s largest home improvement retailer and its affiliates, including its Mexican counterpart
- Representing a technology company in a lawsuit against a subcontractor over technology deployment during the construction of an NFL stadium, recovering damages from the subcontractor that designed and developed the system
- Representing a consumer reporting agency in over 70 consumer lawsuits alleging violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, from complaint to resolution, including several lawsuits brought by pro se and repeat litigants
- Representing a childcare service provider in a hearing before Georgia’s Office of State Administrative Hearings
- Successfully resolving contract disputes with banking services company’s vendor and client pre-litigation
- Representing international insurers in coverage actions involving thousands of claims asserted against several policyholders in New York, California, and Michigan
- Representing equipment rental company and employees in restrictive covenants case in federal court
- Representing a healthcare company in a government investigation, including preparing for and participating in a presentation to the government and settlement discussions
- Representing an international company in an internal investigation relating to corruption
- Advising commercial landlords and tenants in various disputes
- Advising an energy product manufacturer on its sale of the company to a global electrical and digital building infrastructure company.
- Advising several companies regarding third-party, grand jury, SEC, and FTC subpoenas and coordinated responses to the same.
Background
Rebecca earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and served as the Executive Production Editor of the Columbia Human Rights Law Review. While in law school, Rebecca also participated in the Native American Law Students Association (NALSA) Moot Court program and was a quarterfinalist at the annual National NALSA Moot Court Competition. Rebecca also obtained a Certificate in Global Business Law & Governance from Sciences Po and Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (as part of the Paris Global Alliance program) and a Parker School of Foreign and Comparative Law Certificate of Achievement.
Rebecca also holds a B.A. in Economics and Interdisciplinary Studies, magna cum laude, from Emory University.
Prior to joining FH2, Rebecca started her career at an AmLaw 25 international law firm and also worked with a mid-sized Atlanta law firm. As a law student, Rebecca interned for the Honorable Leigh Martin May of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia
Outside of the Office
Rebecca enjoys spending time with her husband and young children. She is also a dance enthusiast and loves to hike and travel. Rebecca speaks Arabic, French and Spanish.
